Palm Desert’s Code Compliance Division ensures that all of the City's neighborhoods are consistent with community standards and in compliance with the Palm Desert Municipal Code.

Code Compliance Permits
The City of Palm Desert’s Code Compliance Division manages permits for:
- Valet operations
- One-day business licenses
- Golf cart renewals

2. Pay Fees
To make a payment, use one of the payment methods provided below. Please be advised, ALL credit card payments are subject to a 3% surcharge per transaction and will be added upon check out online or at onsite terminals. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover (American Express is NOT accepted). Outstanding Balance does not include surcharge fee. Surcharge fees are not added to checks or E-checks.
Also effective October 27, 2025, the City of Palm Desert is updating its user and regulatory fees for development and construction services. For more information about this change, please visit: engagepalmdesert.com/user-fee.
Acceptable methods of payment:
1. Pay online with a credit card using your Clariti account.
2. Pay in person at the Development Services Center (DSC) - Cash or check only. (Credit Card payments are only accepted online using your Clariti account.
3. Pay by check:
- Mail Check to: Development Services Center, 73510 Fred Waring Drive, Palm Desert, CA 92260
- Make Payable to: City of Palm Desert; write permit number in "MEMO" section of check.
- Note: Check payments cannot be processed without a permit number. Failure to provide a permit number can result in non-payment of fees and delay of processing review.
3. Track Your Application / View your Permit Status
Once your application is submitted, you can track its progress in real-time, view any requested changes, receive notifications when your permit is approved or additional steps are needed, or view your permit status by logging in to your Clariti user account.
You can file a complaint one of four convenient ways:

- Email your complaint to codehotline@palmdesert.gov
- Mail in the Complaint Form or drop it off at City Hall.
If a violation is occurring during nonworking hours, please call the Sheriff's Department at (760) 836-3215.

Palm Desert residents, visitors, and businesses who wish to report a problem with a short-term rental (STR) are encouraged to call the City’s Code Compliance Division's Short-Term Rental Hotline any time of the day or night.
