HomeEnvironmental Programs
Palm Desert’s Environmental Programs protect and restore natural resources, keeping our city clean, safe, and livable. The City’s Environmental Programs division is responsible for the management of waste diversion programs, including the Construction and Demolition Waste Management Program, commercial recycling, commercial organics and food waste, residential recycling, and green waste management of the solid waste franchise agreement with Burrtec Waste and Recycling Services, and much more.
Environmental Programs also serves as a liaison for the Resource Preservation & Enhancement (RPEC) Committee and helps to support and move forward the sustainability initiatives recommended by the Committee. We believe everything we do supports healthy, thriving neighborhoods, leaving a better Palm Desert for all.
