The City of Palm Desert has a dedicated Capital Projects Department focused on maintaining and enhancing the City’s infrastructure and community amenities, including parks, libraries, fire stations, and roadways. Each year, the City develops a five-year Capital Improvement Plan (CIP), which outlines proposed and ongoing projects for the acquisition, construction, and rehabilitation of public facilities, as well as projects funded through intergovernmental grants and reimbursements. The City’s current five-year CIP is organized in the accordion widget below.

All projects included in the CIP are carefully reviewed by City staff and the appropriate commissions before being presented to the City Council for final approval. This process ensures transparency and incorporates input from the public and other affected stakeholders.
