The City of Palm Desert is inviting residents and visitors to gather at Civic Center Park on Saturday, July 4, for an evening of patriotic celebration, live entertainment, family activities, and fireworks as the community commemorates both Independence Day and America’s 250th birthday.
This year’s celebration carries special significance as communities across the nation begin marking the 250th anniversary of the United States. In honor of the occasion, Palm Desert’s event will feature special America250-themed giveaways and surprises throughout the evening, adding an extra layer of excitement to the City’s annual Fourth of July tradition.
Festivities begin at 4 p.m. with family-friendly games and activities located behind the Family YMCA of the Desert. Children and families can enjoy a variety of interactive experiences before the evening’s main events get underway.
Food trucks and vendors will begin serving at 5 p.m., offering a wide range of food and beverage options for attendees. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, low-back chairs, and picnic essentials as they settle in for a full evening of entertainment.
At 7 p.m., the main stage will feature the Swing Cats Big Band, performing a lively mix of swing favorites and American classics to help set the tone for the celebration.
The evening culminates at 9 p.m. with Palm Desert’s signature fireworks spectacular. The approximately 20-minute display will be synchronized to patriotic music broadcast on Mix 100.5 FM and 98.5 The Bull, creating an immersive experience for spectators throughout the park.
Parking will be available at Civic Center Park, 73510 Fred Waring Drive, via Fred Waring Drive until lots reach capacity. Additional parking is available at the Palm Desert Aquatic Center and College of the Desert. A free, air-conditioned shuttle will operate between The Gardens on El Paseo and Civic Center Park from 6 to 10 p.m.
Guests are reminded that alcohol, smoking, barbecues, personal fireworks, and golf carts are not permitted within the event area.
We'll post updates as new details about the event are announced. Come celebrate the 4th with the City of Palm Desert!
