For decades, communities have embraced the idea of a “Furever Tree”, a living memorial where people hang photos, ornaments or notes to honor pets who have passed. Now, our own Civic Center Dog Park offers just that: a welcoming space to remember the pets who filled our lives with love and laughter.
Through December, pet parents and animal lovers are invited to hang a laminated photo (with optional inscriptions or messages) on the Furever Tree’s branches. It’s a gentle, meaningful ritual, a chance to reflect on fond memories, and feel connected to a community of others who understand the joy pets bring. Many families find comfort in visiting these trees during the holidays, sharing in collective remembrance, and healing.
The Civic Center Dog Park’s Furever Tree is located just outside the southeast fence of the Dog Park (43900 San Pablo Ave). Whether you’ve recently lost a beloved companion or want to honor a pet who cross the Rainbow Bridge long ago, this Tree offers a peaceful, shared space for remembrance. We hope this little tradition brings comfort, community, and fond reflection to all who visit.
