The City of Palm Desert invites residents of all ages to celebrate Arbor Day on Thursday, April 16, from 10 a.m. to noon at Freedom Park, with a lively, hands-on event focused on trees, sustainability, and community.
A beloved local tradition, Palm Desert’s Arbor Day Celebration brings together residents, students, and community partners to highlight the important role trees play in enhancing quality of life in the desert. From providing shade and improving air quality to beautifying neighborhoods, trees are essential to a healthy, vibrant city.
This year’s event will feature engaging presentations from local organizations, including The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens and West Coast Arborists, who will demonstrate the importance of proper tree pruning and share tips on caring for desert landscapes.
Students from Ronald Reagan Elementary School will also participate in special presentations designed to inspire environmental awareness and stewardship among the next generation.
The celebration will conclude with the Mayor and members of the Palm Desert City Council leading a ceremonial tree planting, giving attendees the opportunity to take part in a meaningful community tradition.
